Biography Deyan Parouchev

Deyan Parouchev was born in Bulgaria in 1982.
He moved to France 16 years ago and settled in Paris.

His pan-european (latin and eastern European) culture gave him, since he was a little boy a great open-mind.

His high sense of creativity is mostly due to his parents, two famous Bulgarian painters, Mr Yordan Parouchev and Mrs Elena Paroucheva.

He studied visual communication and advertising in Creapole, a specialised school in Paris.

He started his carrier in a parisian advertising agency as Artistic Director Junior.

After a few months he joined a creative team of DVD masterers in a major French audiovisual laboratory called VDM (Video Digital Multimedia).

He also gained more experience in participating in several post-production projects working as a free-lance graphic designer.

Deyan was always interested in visual arts and photography and has always tried to link those two passions with his different creative jobs.

It quickly became difficult for him to create as he realised that available images would not fit with his needs.
Digital technology (capture, editing, post-production) was then a fantastic and flexible tool to obtain what he really needed.

In 2006, it became obvious that he had to create his own images as a professional photographer. He received a honourable mention at the International Photography Awards (NY, US), and he worked for advertising agencies. (Heineken, EMI records...).

He has experienced several styles of photography such as press reports, editorials, pack shots and fashion portraits.

In January 2007, his advertising campaign for the organization "Reporters without borders" was published in the “Photo" magazine finalist world contest.

Since a few months he works with several Parisian model agencies and the making-of one of his shootings will be broadcasted worldwide in the "photographers" segment of Fashion TV.

Exploring some cinematographic technics and mixing with digital capturing, Deyan Parouchev created the short movie "A motion story" with a smooth animation of more than 9000 pictures captured in Paris.
The short-movie was broadcasted on ABC NEWS (US) and MMtv (Bulgaria), shown in the Sfumato Theater in Sofia (Bulgaria) and and is also finalist of the international biennial Phodar (Bulgaria).
