 The International Pleiades Festival is a unique event in the history of cinema. It is the first festival of short films that offers the audience a selection of the greatest talents of the world simultaneously, in cinemas and in several towns all over the world.
The Pleiades Festival considers the short as a complete, miniature work of art in its own right, which demonstrates that its director is an equal counterpart of the masters of filmmaking, whose works are also scheduled at the festival, by way of comparaison. The short form also responds to the current exigences of Internet broadcasting.
 The short form, on the other hand, is ideal for promoting the contact between an uninitiated audience and foreign movies coming from new cultures, a sphere that had been reserved for initiated movie-goers.
Following the example of an authentic Festival, the Internatonal Pleiades Festival is a cultural event with its jury, prizes, and the opportunity of an encounter between audience, artists, the press and the operators of film studios.
The festival is composed of two parts :
:: A dozen of short films in competition, from the hands of new artists, and selected by specialists and fans of this genre.
:: A selection of five films «outside» competition, coming from studios or highly reputed directors who would sponsor the new talents.
